Karen L. Kress - Valkyrie's Adornments
Graphic designer by day, jewelry designer by night.. :) Karen has been dabbling in jewelry making for many years, mostly making pieces as gifts for friends and family. Played with lampworking and PMC, wire wrapping and beads... a few years ago, Karen joined a hobbyist group for jewelry makers and learned chainmaille, which she fell in love with. (thanks Bonya!)
Karen had always wanted to learn viking knit... always had a fascination with Norse mythology and has had the nickname Valkyrie(ree) for many years. Being a "valkyrie" she just had to learn viking knit. Challenging at first, but now creates fine, sterling and plated-single, double and triple viking knit, and now recently has added multi-color methods and metalsmith elements to her weaving...
Karen joined the ranks of juried show artisans last year and did a couple of shows...she plans
to grow her business and attend more shows this year.
Look for Karen soon at The Beaded Spirit in Olmsted Falls for classes on how to make viking knit.
